Affiliate Disclosure

The short version

Product links on The Pond Manual are plain links to retailers right now. We don’t currently earn commissions from them. If that changes, this page and the affected pages will say so clearly.

The longer version

Many product-advice sites earn money through affiliate programs: when you click a product link and buy something, the retailer pays the site a small commission at no extra cost to you. There’s nothing wrong with that model — but it only works if the reader knows it’s happening.

Here’s our commitment:

• Every page containing product links carries a notice linking back to this page, so you never have to wonder.
• Affiliate links will be labeled as affiliate links, individually, not just covered by a blanket disclosure somewhere in the footer.
• Commissions don’t change recommendations. Our sizing math, fix orders, and product guidance are research-based (see our editorial methodology). We’d rather recommend the right product from a store that pays us nothing than the wrong one from a store that does.
• No fake scarcity or pressure. If we ever write “best” or “top pick,” it will be because the specs and research support it — not because the commission is higher.

Current status (September 2026)

• We have not joined the Amazon Associates program. If we do, the commission on Patio, Lawn and Garden products is expected to be around 3% — we will verify the actual rate at signup and state it here rather than asserting it now.
• We found no public affiliate programs for The Pond Guy, Webb’s Water Gardens, Aquascape, Oase, Tetra, Laguna, or Danner. Links to those brands are plain links; we’re transparent about that rather than implying a relationship that doesn’t exist.
• Our /go/ short links currently redirect to plain retail homepages as placeholders. They are not affiliate links today.

If you buy through a future affiliate link

The price you pay doesn’t change. The retailer shares a percentage with us for sending you there. That’s the whole arrangement, and we’ll keep describing it exactly that plainly.
